An address to such of the militia of the State as are not
engaged in the service.
. . . [3 lines in Latin, from Virgil]
Thou wretch accurs'd! canst thou to grace pretend?
Clad in the spoils of my dear murder'd friend?
Go then, a victim to his spirit, go;
'Tis Pallas, Pallas, gives the fatal blow.
Thus is his ghost aton'd.
[signed] Pitt.
